Video [Week 4 // Day 2]

[ The gods have stripped all nicks and callouses away, and buffed the wear of war and time from the delicate hands prying at the hitomi. Izuna's gone so dainty and bird-boned, his features barely dusted with subtle traces of his adult self. His hair is an impossible wreck barely tamed in a whispy waterfall he's tucked down the back of his shirt. His jawline's softened, his eyes rounder and his mouth fuller, and though his body's been shrunk in the wash - his clothes haven't. His pajamas hang loose off thin shoulders and bunch at his wrists. There's proper-sized clothes somewhere inside but ...

There's a nice garden here, with wind-chimes and a sunrise that paints the horizon in shades of gold that aren't flames, for once, colors that are warm and surreal. There's no stench of ash clinging to the earth, or his skin and hair in a way that can't be washed out. There's no clash of metal-on-metal, no distant howls of laughter or pain. In fact, the entire Uchiha camp has gone suspiciously missing!

The war's been put on hold, and a very confused but entranced child is left sitting quietly in all this silence that's bigger than he is, startled by it, and unable to recall the last time he's ever heard such a thing.

Rather than dwelling, the little Uchiha seems engrossed in examining his hitomi, his pale face serene despite the circumstances.

It's an illusion, a snare of the mind ... and it's flawless.

Madara's mastered a new genjutsu and he's showing off
, Izuna thinks. It's one he cannot dispel, and the level of detail here is shocking. He must have worked on this for a very long time. . .

His eyelids droop, lashes thick and caging in the knowing gleam in crimson eyes.]

Aniue ... it's so beautiful ...

[He addresses the sky in a soft little voice, not his hitomi. The device is left abandoned in his lap, a hand falling carelessly to half-cover the screen. In a genjutsu it doesn't matter where you project your voice or the volume used, only what's said - and sometimes, what isn't.]

Thank you for showing me this place, but -

[Worry finally creases how browline. His brother might be waiting for him to concede again, to cry surrender so he can gloat and strut the rest of the day knowing his Sharingan bested Izuna's. He could be trapped here for hours if he doesn't yield, and so his hands knot, and he pipes up again with a thread of wavering distress.]

Will you wake me soon..?

I ... might be, um. Genjutsu affects the mind but if they're crafted a certain way, you can walk and talk when under. [He rubs at his face and sniffs, then tries for a fragile wobbly little smile.]

He's here ... he should be here. He'll hear me.

A genjutsu's an illusion. It clouds the mind into seeing and feeling, and thinking something's real when it isn't.

Well, if ... if I were asleep, you'd likely tell me that I wasn't, right? A believable illusion wouldn't break so carelessly.
