[Week 8 | Day 2] Video

[Iruka is walking in a desert, broad daylight. He is holding the Hitomi slightly upwards, and speaking to it. The collar of his flak vest peeks out from what looks like a cloak. Otherwise, he is smiling and generally just being pleasant.]

There's been a lot of new comers lately and I am hoping that you've all settled down somehow and you've been given the details as to why you're here. Either way, I wish you all a warm - or as a warm as one can manage - welcome here.

[A brief pause.]

The sudden influx of Kannagara's population, as I am sure is a surprise to those of you who has been here for quite some time. A lot of these merchants and markets whatnot were never present before. The good thing about this is that there are medics and doctors available in the villages. Since there's been cases when people would arrive in Kannagara severely injured, it brings a little comfort to know that they will have access to a healer within the village proper.

But these things take money and unless you're skilled in theft and pickpocketing, in the event you do not have enough to cover medical charges, please contact me. I will be able to heal your injuries completely. I do not need anything in return, just that your health is restored and your injuries healed.

[A nod. Announcement made. There, he's actually done and offered what Okuninushi has asked of him.]

I bid you all a pleasant day~

[A short wave of his fingers and the feed goes out.]

[He laughs a little, a bit embarrassed that what is obligated of him gets such a praise like this. But he smiles and it's a touch more real rather than a polite one.]

Thank you, Rin-san. Of course, I fully expect you to contact me should and if anything should happen to you not that I wish you any harm ...

[A sigh and a shake of his head.]

Either way, I am as confused as you are. I've been here for almost a year and this is ... a big change.

I know. When I arrived at the Ryokan, Ringo-san said just as much. I've been traveling around and these people aren't really lying. There are signs of them being in this land for a long, long time.

The gods have the ability to turn everyone to children, or forge false romantic relationships between people. I suppose hiding the locals would be a piece of cake.

I would like to understand that myself. The overall lesson is to learn to live in harmony here. A controlled environment, measured, think of it as a laboratory experiment.

You isolate your subjects, introduce foreign substances - in our case, all those times where the unnatural has happened to the people here - and then observe. Maybe they saw progress, maybe they didn't.

Now, they've released their subjects to the 'real world'. See how they would react to all this people and in an environment that is not controlled. I've been in a city where it's run by deviants. Not much control there, huh?

End game is harmony. Though perfect harmony doesn't really exist. Perfect peace.

No such thing ... it's just ... an in-the-moment sort of thing. Never permanent.
