[Week 11 | Day 3] Video

[The feed starts sometime during the later afternoon, with the Hitomi being rotated and turned over left and right, with fingers tapping the screen and curious eyes frowning at the device. Then the feed dies off. Roughly about fifteen minutes later, the feed starts and the face that comes to view is one that is quite exasperated, hair down and plain yukata. Iruka looks like your average civilian.]

This is just a really quick question, particularly to those who've been here long enough to know the villages or towns or whatever you prefer to call them. Assuming you can actually hear this or … see this … or whatever. This is ridiculous.

[Iruka addresses the Hitomi like one would address an audience in an auction house. He wants his answers, his bids, his cash. Literally, he needs that cash.]

What's the fastest way to make quick money? One that doesn't involve stealing, maiming, kidnapping?

[A pause and then he shakes his head, as if the question itself is a mistake.]

No, wrong question. What bar in this land is well known for high gold stakes?

[A blink, a brief hesitation and a sigh. The feed cuts off.]

[OOC: Details on Iruka's AU-scroll is here]

[Something is off about this video. Rin can't quite pinpoint what it is, but Iruka is different. Well, time to find out.]

You could try to kill some wild animals. You will find money in their stomachs.

[And here, she makes a very calculated pause.]

But Umino-san, shouldn't you know better than I? You've been here longer, after all.

[The first thing that pops in to his head is what, she knows my last name how?! And what is this she is insinuating? Him having been here longer? Iruka does not even know this place!

What is this?!]

Uhh ... no, no, miss, I have no clue what you're talking about or how you know my last name for that matter. Or who and why would people feed animals gold.

[A pause.]

You're serious aren't you?
Sep. 8th, 2010 02:04 pm (UTC)
[Okay, this is slightly unsettled. She liked you, Iruka. :( And so it'd be a shame if he'd forgotten. Like she heard some people do after they have been gone and come back.]

Uhm, well... I don't know how the money gets there, either. It's just there.

[Bit of a lie, but she's not sure she wants to mention gods at this point.]

I'm quite serious.

Interesting ... huh. That's one of the most useful piece of information I've gained from people so far. Thanks.

[There is a pause. A brief scuffling noise and then silence.]

Have we met?

[Might as well ask.]

[She gives the device a long look. What to say? The truth? But what worth is the truth if it means nothing to the other person?

Her expression closes up, of sorts.]

No. I mistook you for someone else.
Sep. 9th, 2010 08:12 pm (UTC)
Ahh ...

[Well, at least she's honest right?]

Well, whoever it is you're keeping an eye out for, hope you find him!
Sep. 9th, 2010 08:34 pm (UTC)
[Smiles, but not without a hint of sadness.]

Thanks. I'm sure I will.

What do you need the money for, anyway?
Sep. 9th, 2010 09:07 pm (UTC)
[There's no need to be extra vicious to a person who's being nice anyway, right? So Iruka answers her questions.]

Ah, you know, food, clothing, drinks and stuff. I like to travel a lot so it's good to have sufficient funds.
Sep. 9th, 2010 09:12 pm (UTC)
[Oh, and that looks so Iruka that it makes Rin's heart ache, just a little.]

Right! Of course. One's gotta have that, I agree.

I don't like staying around in one place too much. So getting a stable job is not an option. Figured I'd ask people who knows things around here~ Which reminds me~ Thanks for the tip on the animals by the way. So useful unlike some fools who did answer.

[Feel the toothy grin in his voice!]

[Ahhh, so wibble-worthy!]

... it's no problem. Good luck.
