IC voicemail

This serves as the master post for all character's Hitomi voicemails. Each character should reply to this post with their character journal, with their character's name in the subject line of their post. You may, if you like, have a customized voicemail message in this original post (something along the lines of "You've reached ______, leave a message," or whatever equivalent your character would ICly use) or you can just leave it blank. You are also free to use the original space to leave OOC notes, if you so desire.

This space can be used as a place for characters to leave voicemail messages for other characters. It can also, if you like, serve as a place for one-on-one voice/video/text conversations. All conversations in this post are privatized between two people - your character will not be able to see any conversation that they are not involved in.

In order to leave a message on a voicemail, or to call/text a character for a private conversation, you should respond to a person's original reply to this thread. In the subject line, please leave the week, day, and format (voice/video/text) of your post. Please make sure when tagging a character's voicemail that you are tagging the most current version of that character, as we will /not/ be deleting the threads of characters who have dropped and been re-apped by another player.

In the monthly HMD, we will be asking for a link to your character's voicemail thread along with their network and log community tags. We encourage you to link their voicemail thread in your personal journal.

Please add your character tag once you have tagged in.

This is Asano Rin. If you can't reach me, leave a message here.

Certain people better make use of this.

[Week 19, Day 6]
[The voice that comes through sounds a little out of breath, perhaps barely even contained relief and glee and shyness.]

R-Rin-san! My brother is here! He came! And - and I wanted to tell you that I'll be going with him for now! I don't know what's going to happen but ... but I think I shouldn't leave him alone and we should stick together. So... so! Rin-san, this isn't goodbye or a final thanks but rather I just ... I just wanted to tell you that I didn't disappear like how people disappear and that I'm just going to be with brother for now!

[That is probably said all under one breath.]

[Week 19, Day 6]
[And Rin's answer is warm. The smile can almost be heard in her voice.]

What great news! I'm really glad you found your brother. Of course you should go with him, you're family.

Thanks for telling me.

You're a really sweet girl, Sakura-chan. It was great having you, and I wish you and your brother all the best. We'll see each other around, I'm sure, and if the two of you ever need help with anything, just ask.

[Week 20, day 5]
[Elliot doesn't know Rin so well, at all, but she had been helpful so he figured it wasn't an entirely bad idea. And she had been here long, it seemed like, so... She might be able to help?

So. Clearing throat.]

Hello. This is Elliot Nightray.

I was wondering if you could give any information concerning the gods. Who they are, what they want, and things like that. Anything you have would be helpful.

Thank you.

[Week 20, day 5]
[Well. That is an unusual request. Or well, maybe not so unusual, but that he's coming to her via voicemail... obviously, the matter is pressing.]

Hello, Mr. Nightray.

I'm not sure I'll be able to help you, so I'm just going to tell you what I know. These gods are powerful beings that ostensibly rule over this world. They are the same deities worshipped in my homecountry, incidentally, except they seem a good bit more present here. I've never met a deity in person at home, for instance, while it has happened here.

They claim to want us to learn how to live in harmony, but I'm not so sure they're accomplishing it very well... well, there seem to be different fractions present. And some powerful beings that don't count themselves among them at all. I guess there's a kind of war going on between them.

Hope that helps. If not, maybe you could ask more specific questions going off this?

[Week 20, day 5]
[He pauses for a moment. Well, that does help some. A war? Sounds like something you could figure out to use for... something. Vincent might have an idea, since, Elliot must admit, he's pretty good at the whole... using any means avaliable thing.]

You met one?

[That could also be very useful.]

How did that go?
Mar. 20th, 2011 11:50 am (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
Yeah, I did! Just once. I was praying at a temple and Ame-no-Uzume appeared to me. She was friendly, actually, and even gave me some valuable information -- that while we're here, there's another "self" that exists back home.

Oh, and they've also posted on the network once or twice. Those broadcasts had more of a "laying the smackdown" tone, though.

[Week 20, day 5]
[...that is exactly what Vincent mentioned doing. So it could actually lead somewhere?

That's... great news.]

So they might appear if you pray at a temple?
Mar. 20th, 2011 12:05 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
They might, if they so deign to. It does depend on luck a little.

... so. You want to talk to a god?

[Because she really wonders about that. What could be your objective, hm?]
Mar. 20th, 2011 12:40 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]

[Well. It's not so weird to want to, right? Deep breath.]

I've been thinking of it.
Mar. 20th, 2011 12:44 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
Hmm, well. From what I heard, it should go over well? Still, be careful. And show the proper manners.

Clean your hands and mouth when entering a shrine. Leave a tip or other offerings; food of some kind is popular. Perhaps burn some incense if it's a temple.

[After all, even if you don't like the gods very much, manners are manners.]
Mar. 20th, 2011 01:08 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
[...he should probably write down everything she (and anyone else) says, to be sure. So he doesn't say anything for a while as he gets up and rummages around the house for parchment and all that.

At least, as nobles, they all know manners. That's a good thing.]

[And another while of silence as he puts down some notes.]

They just do whatever they want, then?

[So you can't just summon them somehow.]
Mar. 20th, 2011 01:26 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
[Rin waits and hears that. And is almost a little appreciate that he's willing to take notes and put effort into this.

A wasted feeling, for sure. Which is why she doesn't comment on it.]

Pretty much. Unless they come into conflict with others of their kind, or something.
Mar. 20th, 2011 07:25 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
I take it they have different opinions?

[Just like any other human, in that case. Then... you would just have to stumble onto the right god, wouldn't you? Perhaps there's something to read up on when it comes to personalities...

How many are they, even?

This world has ought to have a library, though. Perhaps it would be worth a visit.]
Mar. 20th, 2011 08:03 pm (UTC)
[Week 20, day 5]
Oh, yes. Very different. They tend to get into fights even if they haven't actively declared war on each other.

Ame-no-Uzume was quite civil to me, so I guess I can sort of... "recommend" trying to contact her.
