[ Yakumo Yukari, sitting on the ground in Himorogi with her knees pulled up to her chest, looks slightly different today. For those few who recognize her, she is currently missing the following:

1. Her usual hat and hair ribbons.
2. Her boots, and the stockings that would go with them.
3. Her gloves.
4. Her parasol.
5. Her customary careless smile, which has been replaced with a look of incredulity. ]

Do you know. Do you know, it was summer, back at home? Summer.

And here it's winter.

Is there some specific reason for that? Is there some particular need for me to have been brought here in the middle of the frigid, dry, boring, colorless, overall disgusting and unpleasant winter? Pray tell, what mystic wisdom from on high has made it necessary for me to be brought back to this place in the middle of winter.

But do you know, Kannagara, that this is in fact absolutely fine?

[ A flip of the hair, in order to demonstrate the extreme fineness of this situation. Abruptly, Yukari is smiling again, showing the world her very best god-it-is-just-amazing-how-superior-I-am-to-literally-everyone-else smile. ] So I'm missing out on the rest of the summer months in order to spend more time in this inferior world in the middle of winter. Well, as it turns out, although winter is a hopelessly unpleasant season which is generally only good for hibernating through, it is also just a season, and is therefore - like all natural phenomena - easily circumvented through innovation and creative solutions.

For instance: I am going to make hot chocolate. Then I am going to take a nap. Any deities who are presently tuning in may note that I am rejecting their attempt to ruin my day, and should furthermore know that they are not invited for this or any future instances of hot chocolate until they are willing to engage in straightforward negotiation.

[Rin is not fine today, but that's okay. She does remember that face, vaguely. Hasn't talked to Yukari often, but she has. And remembers being ambivalent on her. So this post is relevant to her interests.

The choice of text communication is a very conscious one. It doesn't seem like Yukari needs any welcoming committee, anyway.]

It's the latter half of the middle of winter, at least. Or so I'm guessing.

You seem very confident, challenging the gods as you did. Don't let the natives hear that.

[Yukari remembers you a little bit, Rin. Mostly because of that one time when Jokaa-san killed you and then got cut up by Boy-Whose-Name-Yukari-Cannot-Remember, but there are other details that come to mind as well, vaguely.]

The natives have more to fear from me than I from the gods, don't you think~?

[Rin does not know your chatspeak and is going to ignore it.]

I wouldn't know.

[Half-truth; she remembers Yukari is powerful, but not the extent of it.]

I'm not in any danger from them, I assure you.

I don't seem to remember them caring especially what I said, though. Pissed them all off in my absence, have you?
Feb. 22nd, 2011 04:37 pm (UTC)
So it seems. They've been showing a great deal of animosity toward us. Not that it actually was our fault to start with.

Well, big surprise. I never thought they were terribly bright.

So what are you doing about that?

Up to now, we've been mostly enduring, but I don't think that is going to work much longer.
