[The Hitomi has come on when it's caught with her thumb. The Boss, who's not used to visual communication being in such a scale, doesn't realise she's being recorded. Her expression is focused, certainly, on what she's doing, but also oddly unguarded, a softness at the edges of her eyes and the corner of her mouth. Her hair is loose, as it was when she'd fallen in the flowers, and as yet she hasn't paused long enough to pull her hair back.]

Recording. Maybe if the writing was a little larger...

[She lifts the device closer to her mouth, as though suspecting that because the audio input is clearly so much smaller it must be inadequate, and she keeps her voice quite loud to make certain she's audible. She is -- very loud.]

Did I make it to the other side? Are you here, my friends?

[There's a pause, as though she's waiting for something. After a considerable time has passed she continues.]

Perhaps if someone can answer, my purpose here can be explained to me. Where am I, and how did I get here? Am I dead?

[Another newcomer. Isn't that wonderful. After being told about Aizen, Rin decides to be more careful -- thus, a text message.]

Hello. Welcome.

This is a world called "Kannagara". No one knows how we get here. You're not dead.
Jun. 28th, 2010 11:15 am (UTC)
[After absolutely trying her best to use the little keyboard that appeared on the screen, The Boss has given up. The letters are very small, and the bright backlit screen is hurting her eyes. She keeps mistyping letters. Usually so adaptable, this problem is perhaps a greater concern than she'd like to admit, so she doesn't mention why she's replying in voice when she does.]

I'm certain I recall dying. When you say 'A world called "Kannagara", what do you mean? This isn't a province of Japan? Perhaps northern China?

[Her voice is smaller as she looks away.] Though I'm certain I couldn't have travelled so far so quickly.

What is my purpose in being here? How do I get back?
Jun. 28th, 2010 03:22 pm (UTC)
[Okay. Voice will do. As long as she doesn't give her face away. It's more convenient like this, anyway. Rin, too, doesn't really find the text function comfortable at all, but sometimes her inner voices tell her to opt for it anyway.]

I'm pretty sure it's neither Japan nor China.

Your other questions, I can't answer. I don't know myself.
Jul. 11th, 2010 03:19 pm (UTC)
[All business as usual, The Boss does not persist in asking unanswerable questions.]

Can you direct me to someon who would?
Jul. 11th, 2010 04:19 pm (UTC)
There are other people here who have been longer, but I'm not sure if they'd be able to answer that. I'm pretty sure if that were the case, they would've already left.

[Sounding just a tiny bit dejected here. Life is rough, and all.]
Jul. 11th, 2010 05:27 pm (UTC)
[voice] How did I do that? =/
Would they? It depends, I imagine, on whether there is anything to return to.

[The Boss is usually very good at picking up on other people's emotions, even if she isn't usually very forgiving about them.]

Nothing will come to you, so you must go to it instead. As long as you raise your head, you can continue to move forward. Close your eyes and stand still; surrender or give in, and nobody can be blamed but yourself when nothing changes.
Jul. 11th, 2010 05:45 pm (UTC)
[voice] Do what?
Ah, yes. That's true.

[Wow, unexpected lecture. It makes Rin feel small, but somehow, she thinks it's not so bad to be 'put back in her place', so to speak. She needs to focus.]

Mh. I know.

Re: [voice] Someon.
[Her voice is very soft, motherly, but direct none the less. She's used to having to keep authority over numbers of exciteable young male soldiers, after all.]

If you know, then there's nothing stopping you, is there? If you want to go home, find a way to do so.
Jul. 11th, 2010 06:24 pm (UTC)
[voice] It happens. xD <3
Mhh, you're right.

[Now with more enthusiasm. A lot more enthusiasm.]

Right, it's about time I got on that!
Jul. 11th, 2010 08:38 pm (UTC)
Excellent. Do let me know how you get on with that, before you go disappearing home.

[Since it's voice there's no smile to be seen, but it sounds like there is one. Oddly enough, she manages to do that without actually smiling in person anyway.]
Jul. 11th, 2010 08:51 pm (UTC)
Sure. I'll do my best.

[Rin's voice, too, is gentle here.]
Jul. 11th, 2010 09:40 pm (UTC)
In the meantime I will find my feet. Thank you for the assistance.
Jul. 12th, 2010 09:04 am (UTC)

You lost your feet? Should I, uh, go look for them for you?

[Yes, Rin is taking this completely literally. She's got experience in that department.]
Jul. 12th, 2010 12:25 pm (UTC)
[Hey. Some things don't translate. She'll assume that.]

It's a figure of speech, meaning that I will have to get used to my new surroundings on my own terms. I haven't lost my feet.
Jul. 12th, 2010 02:33 pm (UTC)
Ahh. Right, of course, how stupid of me!

[Laughing awkwardly. Way to go, Rin. You just made a fool of yourself and possibly gave up information you wanted to keep.]

Well, I hope you'll be able to, er, find your feet soon.
Jul. 13th, 2010 10:59 am (UTC)
[She seems unphased by the mistake, after all it's a concern of speaking other languages.] Thank you.
Jul. 13th, 2010 11:06 am (UTC)
It's no problem.
